Also known as Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN), the basics of this technique were outlined by Dr. Janet Travell and Dr. David Simon during the Second World War. They mapped muscle “trigger points’’ throughout the human body, and noticed that these points responded positively to dry needle stimuli. The doctors created the dry needle concept and therapy. Dry Needling is the use of solid filiform needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to trigger points.
Kinesio Taping has been proven to have a positive physiological effect on skin, lymphatic and circulatory system, fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints. It is used in conjunction with a multitude of other treatments and modalities and is effective during the rehabilitative and chronic phases of an injury as well as being used for preventative measures.
